Hays Pilot Bearing – Roller TypeThis Hays Roller Pilot Bearing is an easy to install upgrade or replacement for LS or Gen V LT engine with a TKO or TKX transmission. Roller pilot bearings reduce parasitic drag that can cause transmission wear and hard shifting. Pre-greased and ready for installation.Drive the bearing flush with the crankshaft outer flange. Do not force the install, once installed the bearing should turn smoothly.IMPORTANT NOTE: many GM LS engines use a press-in oil plug deep inside the crankshaft flange. DO NOT move or disturb this plug when removing or installing a pilot bearing. Your old pilot bearing must be removed by means of a mechanical pilot bearing puller. DO NOT attempt to use a ”hydraulic” method to push-out or remove your old pilot bearing!
